Religion News Service reports that a recent ten nation survey found that Americans were mostly likely to apply spiritual values to political decision making. Thirty-seven percent of American respondents said religious leaders should "try to influence government decisions." Republicans overwhelmingly won the votes of those who attend worship services once weekly or more often. Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid, a devout Mormon, is trying to build bridges to faith communities. He has a new webpage with a message for people of faith. I applaud Senator Reid for working to close the gap among religious voters.
